According to a character in Cloudstreet, drowning is lovely and quite desireable. According the the character in Death of a River Guide, drowning is horrifically painful and may induce visions.
However, the general consensus is that drowning leads to death, possibly not the greatest course of action.

no you don't. why would you want that?? even being close to drowning is a horrific and sadly unforgettable experience.
